Practicing Freedom Building Joy and Community with Cheshire Li

    • Series Page

Practicing Freedom is a short documentary film centering queer folks and women of color as they navigate the challenges and joys of building an inclusive community, learning about themselves, and increasing representation in mountain biking.

Cheshire Li (they/them) is a multi-skilled independent filmmaker with a deep curiosity for new experiences and a heart for the community. As a queer Chinese-American child of immigrants, they bring a complex, inclusive, and compassionate perspective to their storytelling. The heart of their personal work aims to explore inclusive and intersectional ideas in film while holding the complexity and nuance of those liminal spaces.

This film was released through Freehub channels as part of our Freehub Pipeline program, which aims to elevate and share amazing stories from athletes and creators. Have a project you think would be a good fit for Pipeline? Learn more here.
