Canvas: A Self Shot Film By Louis Citadelle

"Self-sufficiency has always been part of the DNA of mountain biking, whether it means fixing the inevitable flat tires, improvising trailside mechanical repairs, or heading out into the backcountry on long solo missions, the idea of independence is deeply wrapped up in the sport.

French filmmaker Louis Citadelle has taken that ethos to new heights by creating a series of self-filmed mountain bike videos on his downtime from shooting DH World Cup races.

“I have been doing self-shot videos since 2019 when I bought my first camera, it has now become somewhat of an annual passion project for me. Even though there’s a massive effort required to pull them off, they still fire me up because of the potential to create something that stands out from the crowd.”

This year’s video, CANVAS, required roughly two weeks of exploration locations around his Morzine home and another two weeks spent setting up and getting the shots which went into the final edit."—7mesh Cycling Apparel
