(Northfield, NH) Riders have flown in from around the world and are getting ready to tackle the infamous Claymore Course at the 5th Annual Highland Claymore Challenge; the first North American “Gold Level” event in the FMBA World Tour.
With fresh paint still drying and dirt still being packed, anxious riders are starting to hit the course to explore the enhancements Dave Smutok and the Highland Trail Crew have made to this years Claymore Challenge course. New features like the Geax Step Up and timeless favorites like the Red Bull Freebird Final Jump are seeing love from riders as they start to sort out the course and prepare for Thursday’s qualifier. Greg Watts put it best, "It’s always good to show up at Highland because we already know the course is going to be dialed to perfection."
Come Friday, the riders will throw down on Freebird for a cool $1,000 in the Teva Best Trick contest. All day Saturday spectators can take part in the action too, with plenty of free viewing decks, a course-side beer garden, vendor village, and of course some of the best trails in the world at America’s Bike Park for your riding pleasure. Feel like getting in on some of the competition? Hash tag all of your Instagram photos from the event with #ClaymoreChallenge and automatically enter to win great prizes from Teva in our Claymore Challenge photo contest.
You don’t have to be at Highland this year to catch all the action. Red Bull Media House will be live streaming the 2012 Claymore Challenge around the world at www.redbull.com/bike at 2pm est Saturday the 21st.
