Helmet (as defined by Dictonary.com):
hel·met [hel-mit]
noun; 1. any of various forms of protective head covering worn by soldiers, firefighters, divers, cyclists, etc.

I prefer to use the term Brain-bucket!

Not too long ago I would ride without a cover on my melon. But after a couple concussions and my brother getting in a wicked wreck with a car, I decided to don the helmet in most situations. This being the case, finding the right cap for the ride has been a quest.

A few months ago I was given an Endur-O-Matic to test. The piece of dome armor was different than most others available for purchase and first noticed the strange appearance. The shape reminded me of a Euro-park bucket with a flexible visor bolted on the front. I began my testing phase on urban and touring rides. Riding in the Pacific North-Wet you can expect to experience the full spectrum of weather on a daily basis. The eight-hole ventilation system combined with its lightweight make for a very enjoyable ride in drier weather while keeping your head from becoming completely drenched in a rainstorm. I wore this helmet on a three-day bike camping tour of the San Juan Islands. The visor shielded the sun from my eyes and when the heavy clouds finished their journey through the Straight of Juan de Fuca, my head remained relatively dry.

I’ve worn the Endur-O-Matic in the woods on XC trails, and some easier DH runs. As a new trail rider, the pliable “anti-crash” visor passed the “over-the-bar” face-plant test numerous times. I also chose to wear this helmet on my first foray into dirt jumping. The fit was super comfortable and stayed put when I did a “cow jumps over the moon” style bail on a line transfer with my head making first contact with the Earth.

Overall the Endur-O-Matic is a great all-around brain-bucket. From cruising around town to hitting the trails, this helmet is a great piece of equipment to keep your bean intact.
