The Crankworx Garbanzo DH: A Photo Essay from the Rider's Perspective

By now, you’ve probably heard of what went down over the first weekend of Crankworx Whistler—a grueling Canadian Open Enduro and Brendan Fairclough winning the Dual Speed and Style on Saturday, local heroes Stevie Smith and Casey Brown topping the podium for the Garbanzo DH. But there is a different side to Crankworx than just pros being pros. And there is no better example of this than the Garbanzo DH, in which anyone can enter and vie for the top spot down 3,400 vertical feet of descending ranging from technical, rocky chutes to wide-open flow. Indeed, the Garbanzo DH showcases all that Whistler has to offer. For the 2012 running of the endurance downhill, a strong contingent from Freehub tried their luck. This is the Garbanzo DH, from a rider’s perspective.
